Yes, but I thought there was an American version of it? Have you not seen it?

Basically, you start with nine people who are asked in turn quick-fire questions. The longer their run of correct answers goes on, the more money they accumulate. If somebody gets it wrong they lose the money. BUT if they say "bank" before their question is asked, what is accumulated is banked (and therefore protected) and the string starts again. At the end of each round, the contestants vote off "the weakest linK" basically the worst player in that round. That keeps going until there is only two left. Those two then go head to head to answer a set of five questions. Who gets the most answers wins all of the prize money.

The questions are asked so quickly, the contestants barely have time to think. That is why you get these bizarre answers.

There might be. I don't watch much TV these days. Maybe others can answer if there is a Yank version of this.

There was an American version of the show but it only ran for a year - 2001 to 2002. And there was a daytime version that ran from 2002 to 2003. The rules differed in a very minor way, but it was pretty much the same as the British version.

As for those questions above... there were a lot I could not answer, not being British, but the answers the contestants gave are hysterical... ROFL

But I'd like to think I'd not be that far off base... Snicker
