The Lord's Prayer in Old English
Just a quirky video. No idea whether it belongs in 'History' or 'Religion'. Probably won't get a response either way.
As a piece of history, I think Old English is both beautiful to listen to and to read. The subtitles shows the roots of English from its Anglo-Saxon and Danish roots.

That is awesome!
On a (somewhat) related note (which I may expand upon later), I recently discovered something called The Great Courses, which are CD/DVD lectures of apparently college level courses, and seeing as I've wanted to get more into reading, a few months ago I bought one called "Great Authors Of The Western Literary Tradition" (with 84 lectures starting at Gilgamesh and continuing through the 20th century). Anyway, about fifteen lectures in was Beowulf and a few lectures later, Chaucer. And the professor read some of both in the language that it was written - and it was just beautiful to listen to. Plus I've got a copy of The Canterbury Tales that has the original version on one page and the translated version on the next. It's interesting to see the similarities (and differences) of the words and how they're related.

Moved this thread to History.
That sounds amazing ILM. I hope you get a lot out of it.
